Tomorrow, Saturday 29th August, Capital Sky’s very own James Whitehouse will take to his bike alongside a team of fellow-riders for a challenge that will see them cycle approximately 130 miles in a single day, travelling from Flitwick to Overstrand in Norfolk.

This ride is now in its fifth year, and was established in memory of Linda, whose connection with Overstrand made the destination a fitting one for an annual challenge that has brought friends, family and colleagues together year after year. The event continues to raise money for Cancer Research UK, while remembering those whose lives have been affected by cancer. At the time of writing, the initial goal of £1,500 for Cancer Research UK has been more than doubled, thanks to the generosity of everyone this story has touched so far.

James will be joined by Carol Herbert, Louise Sanchez, David Smith, Kiano Cimelli, Dan Phillips and Steve Tavinor (event organiser), with Jose Sanchez providing support throughout the route. This year’s team also includes Carol and Louise as the first female riders to take part, alongside David Smith, who is making the journey in memory of his wife Jaime following her seven-year battle with bowel cancer.

Everyone at Capital Sky is 100% behind James as he takes on the challenge and to help give the fundraising effort some additional reach. We also want to wish Carol, Louise, David, Jose, Kiano, Dan and Steve the very best for Saturday’s journey.

One hundred and thirty miles is a serious undertaking, and we will be following their progress and cheering them on all the way to Overstrand in support of a truly important cause.

If you would like to support James and the Ride 4 Linda team, donations can be made through their GoFundMe fundraising page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ride-4-linda5
