Policy Commitments
- Capital Sky will carry out Risk Assessments to identify the causes of workplace stress and will endeavour to eliminate or control the associated risks. These Risk Assessments will be subject to regular review to confirm their continued relevance.
- Capital Sky will consult with the Health and Safety Department when matters are raised through the site SHEP (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Procurement) meetings and when actions are proposed by the Company to address identified causes of workplace stress.
- The Company will provide necessary training for all managers and supervisory staff to ensure awareness and application of effective stress management practices.
- Capital Sky will ensure that managers are provided with adequate resources to enable them to implement this Workplace Stress Policy effectively.
Responsibilities
Managers are expected to:
- Implement the requirements of the Capital Sky Workplace Stress Policy and any recommendations arising from workplace Risk Assessments.
- Maintain effective and open communication with employees on all relevant matters, especially during organisational and procedural changes.
- Ensure that all employees are appropriately trained and competent to fulfil the duties expected of them.
- Provide opportunities, where possible and appropriate, for employees to develop and progress within their roles.
- Monitor individual workloads to ensure that no employee is expected to work beyond a reasonable capacity.
- Monitor working hours and ensure that employees are not working excessive hours.
- Ensure that employees take their full holiday entitlement and maintain a healthy worklife balance.
- Attend training in effective stress management practices when required.
- Ensure that bullying and harassment are neither practiced nor tolerated within their area of responsibility.
- Be vigilant and offer additional support to employees experiencing high levels of stress, including those caused by personal matters such as bereavement or family separation.
- Carry out Stress Risk Assessments, make recommendations based on the findings, and implement appropriate measures to reduce and manage workplace stress where necessary.
