At project completion, the Client will receive two documents: the O&M Manual and the Health and Safety File. The purpose of this email is to describe the information required for assembly of the Health and Safety File only. This is essentially information relating to the project which is likely to be needed during any future works at the Kenilworth Road site, to ensure the health and safety of any person involved. Whilst the Health and Safety File is collated by the Principal Designer, the contractors’ insight into what the built site conditions are, and any risks which have been left on site are crucial to producing a document which fulfils the requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
The following items will be required, where appropriate, from all contractors working on the Kenilworth Road Stadium project. Items regarding design are specifically for those with design responsibilities.
- A brief description of the work carried out.
- Any hazards that have not been eliminated through the design and construction processes, and how they have been addressed (for example, surveys or other information concerning asbestos, contaminated land or buried services). This should be in the form of residual risk RAMS, and must not be generic information.
- Key structural principles (for example, bracing or sources of substantial stored energy including pre or post tensioning) and details of the safe working loads for floors and roofs
- Details of any hazardous materials used ( for example lead paints and special coatings)
- Information regarding the removal or dismantling of installed plant and equipments (for example any special requirements for lifting or disposal)
- Health and safety information about the equipment provided for cleaning or maintaining the stadium structure (for example the means of safe access to and from service voids, fire door information including duration and position, Mansafe system information, harness points, recommended sequences)
- Significant services information (locations, drawings, site markings) including underground cabling, gas supply, fire fighting services
- Information and as-built drawings of the works you’re responsible for, including installed plant and equipment
