International Womens Day provided an opportunity for the team at Capital Sky to pause during an incredibly busy March and recognise the women whose work, commitment and leadership contribute to the company every day.

Across the week, several female members of the Capital Sky team shared their personal stories through a series of short filmed interviews. The conversations offered a genuine insight into their professional journeys, the roles they play within the business and the balance they maintain between work, family life and personal interests outside of the workplace.

The intention behind the content was simple: to give space to the voices and experiences of the women who help shape the company. From career beginnings to the paths that led them into construction and civil engineering, the interviews reflected a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating that there is no single route into the construction industry.

The response across the team was overwhelmingly positive. The stories resonated not only because they highlighted professional achievements, but because they genuinely showed the people behind the roles, others got to see their colleagues who balance demanding careers with family life, community involvement and personal ambitions.

The week also saw Capital Sky represented at the ICAP International Womens Day Lunch, an event the company supports as an annual ambassador. The gathering brought together leaders from across business and the Irish community to celebrate the contributions of women across a wide range of industries while supporting the important work ICAP carries out in providing counselling services for the Irish community across the UK.

For Capital Sky, supporting the event reflects both the companys Irish heritage and its continued commitment to initiatives that strengthen opportunity and representation.

Within construction, conversations around representation and opportunity for women have gathered increasing momentum in recent years. While the sector continues to evolve, visibility and encouragement remain essential in helping more women see to construction as a viable and rewarding career path.

Internally, the focus remains on creating an environment where people are supported to develop their careers and where talent is recognised on the strength of ability, professionalism and commitment.

The voices shared during the week were a reminder that progress is built through everyday contributions. The women embedded across the Capital Sky Group of companies continue to play a vital role in shaping the business and strengthening its connection to the community in Luton and the wider region.

Their work, leadership and perspective remain a critical part of the companys future, and culture.
