On 6th March, we’ll mark Employee Appreciation Day as an opportunity to recognise the people who make Capital Sky what it is.
I’m very clear about one thing: without our team, we have no business. No projects delivered, no standards upheld, no reputation earned.
Construction and civil engineering demand precision, discipline and accountability. The health and safety standards we maintain across every site are the result of individuals making the right decision every day, following procedures, looking out for one another and refusing to compromise on quality or safety.
In 2025, that commitment was recognised externally where we acquired two major industry accolades in relation to health and safety standards and we are immensely proud of those achievements. However, awards don’t pour concrete, manage logistics or complete risk assessments… our people do.
Every operative, supervisor, manager and support team member plays a role in maintaining the culture we are known for. The high standards we target are upheld on site, in real conditions and often under a lot of pressure, and that is where the professionalism of every member of the Capital Sky team truly shows.
For us, Employee Appreciation Day is about acknowledging integrity and effort, but I’m thrilled to say that our team also, daily, demonstrates our values through consistency. As a small token of thanks, we will be sending 50 pizzas to our Cambridge project site, a simple way of recognising the team’s hard work and dedication. It obviously won’t reflect the full value of what they contribute in any way, but it’s a (tasty) reminder that their work does not go unnoticed.
What matters most to me as a leader is building a company where people feel respected, supported and part of something that values them. A motivated and thoroughly engaged team is great for morale, but it is essential for performance, safety and our long-term success.
We will continue to invest in our people, uphold the highest standards and create an environment where professionalism and appreciation go hand in hand.
To everyone across the Capital Sky Group: a sincere and heart-felt thank you for the work you do and the standards you protect, every day.
Tracey Heneghan.
