Across Capital Sky, we are genuinely fortunate to have several fathers and sons working within the business, sharing a profession and the experiences that come with it. Whether working side by side on site, following similar career paths or simply sharing an understanding of what the job demands, those family connections are something really special to us.
You could say that construction has always been an industry where knowledge is passed from one generation to the next. In a career, skills can be taught, but if we talk about work ethic, respect, resilience and the importance of doing things properly, then many of those qualities are first learned at home, long before they are carried onto a project site.
Father’s Day provides an opportunity to recognise those relationships and the role fathers play in helping shape the people we become. It is often the small lessons, quiet encouragement and examples set over many years that leave the greatest impact.
At Capital Sky, family has always been and will always be an important part of who we are. We understand that behind every early start and every successful delivery there are people with families, responsibilities and loved ones waiting for them at the end of the day. Writing this, I think that’s probably evidence of why we take site-safety so unapologetically seriously.
This Father’s Day, we would like to celebrate all fathers across the business and beyond, and especially those father-son combos who share their time with us.
The father-and-son relationships within our team are a reminder that construction is ultimately about people, and that some of the strongest foundations are built long before any project begins.
From everyone at Capital Sky, Happy Father’s Day.
