Last night at Kenilworth Road, our partner Luton Town Football Club secured an incredible 2–1 semi-final win over Northampton Town to seal their place at Wembley in the Vertu Trophy final. An absolute banger from Liam Walsh in the 82nd minute sent the Hatters through, to the absolute joy of over ten thousand fans in the ground, and supporters across the town.
As the Principal Partner of Luton Town FC, Capital Sky would like to extend sincere congratulations to all of the players, coaching staff and everyone connected with the club on a night that no doubt will live long in the memory. It was a real semi-final in every sense, with Luton dominating possession (65% to 35%) and showing pure resilience to come back from behind before securing the decisive goal. And what a goal it was!
The win not only delivers a coveted trip to Wembley that few teams ever achieve, but also highlights the competitive drive and character of this group as they continue to push forward this season towards play-offs and promotion.
